Ever since Halifax’s first-ever digital festival was announced we’ve been counting down the days! Halifax has already hosted some fun, artistic, weird and wonderful events this summer, and now we can get involved in all things online, tech and digital.
Given we’re based at the University Business Centre next to the Piece Hall we’re in the thick of the action. As much as we’d like to, unfortunately we can’t be at every event, so here are our top picks!
This all-day event looks at the theme “digital revolution” and takes on the topic of harnessing our rapidly-growing need for a more digital approach. We’re expecting to hear a load of great stories on businesses that have kicked-on having adopted a digital approach (and we’re particularly looking forward to the workshop on design sprints). This is a great way way to kick-start the festivities and one to keep an eye on.
Covea’s monthly meet-ups at the University Business Centre have become increasingly popular (and it’s not just because the pizza). Always insightful, some of the popular talks will be revisited during this morning session.
Bec Evans was a recent guest on our good friend Jane Barrett’s podcast, “How to have a happy hustle…” We’re firm believers that the best way to start your own business is by starting with a ‘side hustle’ – it’s a great way to test the market, your own skills and how motivated you are, while stay being able to pay the bills. Really excited to see the lessons that Bec has to share!
Of course, we couldn’t mention the Halifax digital festival without a shameless plug for our own talk! That’s right, we’re proudly hosting our own event titled “Taking Your Expertise Online” where Candle’s own Andy Jack will be discussing how to kick-start your own online learning plans!
If you’re interested in joining us you can visit Eventbrite for more information – Find us on September 19th at 2pm @ The University Business Centre.
