We love working with training providers looking to take their expertise online. And we love it even more when they’re based locally!
On our latest project, we’ve been working with Calderdale-based financial consultant and trainer, Martin Mellor, the director of Mellor Financial Management.
Mellor Financial Management provides accredited face-to-face training to help people within businesses to feel more confident having conversations about finance. Typically, they may have been promoted to a role which unexpectedly exposes them to budgets, financial statements and a heap of financial jargon, and Martin’s training provides them with the confidence and skills to navigate through this.
When he approached Candle Digital, Martin was looking to create an online platform to host an entirely online equivalent of the course, that was also flexible enough to complement his classroom training.
“Creating an online offering had been in my plans for some time. I had become increasingly of the view that there had to be a ‘better way’ of supporting people with finance training online (this was way before I even knew where Wuhan was!) and it all came together working with Andy and Mark. It was a great project to be involved with and I’m over the moon with the results.”
Andy Jack, director at Candle Digital, said:
“We’re delighted to have had the opportunity to bring Martin’s vision to life. Business finance can be such a confusing topic at times and, depending on the context, can be very different for different people.
We considered this in the learning design and created a series of personas so the course would be relevant, whatever the circumstances. We also used video and interactive elements to bring it to life.
We’ve complemented this with a rich set of resources and bespoke system functionality so that the course fits neatly into Martin’s existing product set and business as a whole.
We’re looking forward to seeing this online training help many managers and small business owners improve their financial knowledge!”
